Cuteness abounds

The Wallace and Gromit obsession continues, even extending so far as us dressing him up as his favourite character for charidee. He also insisted one morning that his cuddly Gromit (a kind donation by an unknowing Evie)should have his nappy on as well. Keen to encourage any sort of play that couldn't be characterised as 'Dom Smash!', Helen rustled up a folded muslin square and Dom leant in over Gromit to 'help' put it on. Then, taking a leaf from Aunty Jo's book, he issued the priceless instruction to 'Spread 'em, Gromit!'. Gromit was still wearing the nappy days later as you can see in Webby's babysitting photo-

If he makes it through his dinner, Dom's reward is a choice of dessert from the sweet trolley. Available to him are fruit pots, yoghurts, apple bars or mashy banana and getting him to choose is the devil's own job. This week he's started asking for 'HowaBout a Lockhurt' or 'HowaBout Froot Pot', as if they were they proper names.

Jobley treated him and us to a meal at her local kid-friendly Italian restaurant. We explained to Dom how, like Foie Gras, penguins are force-fed ice-cream to create a delicacy for the discerning gastronome. Given that the only penguin to have come across his radar is the evil Feathers McGraw, Dom laughed and wolfed it down.
